Hello Ever After

I’m the kind of person who says ‘yes’ to a thing without totally thinking things through. This ‘yes now, think later’ personality I have been told is part of my Capricorn nature, but I have to admit, it’s led to some really good things, and Hello Ever After is one of them!

Sparked by frustration, pettiness and a whole lot of “I miss working with everyone,” #romanceclass authors were invited to write a short script of two characters on a video call. Then people bought enough Ko-Fis to fund nine episodes (thank you, everyone!) and now we have a web series airing in six days!!!

I say that like I’m involved in any capacity more than to just lurk and squee during recordings and wrote one episode, but it’s always amazing to see how things come together in this community. It’s a gift to have moments like these despite things going on, and I really have missed everyone, okay, let me have this moment.

I wrote an episode called Midnight Melodies featuring my characters Adam Sevilla and Isabel Alfonso from my book How She Likes It. If you read their book, and the little ficlet I posted here on the blog, this live ‘epilogue’ is a continuation of those stories. We had Rap Robes and Sam Aquino shooting from their homes while we watched from our homes (and I tried my best to stay profesh).

I have to say, I love seeing actors in their process, and this was fun to watch. Sure I wrote the thing (but did I, really) but Sam and Rap really took it up ten thousand notches! Brownies were baked, kilig was generated, and I am SO EXCITED for you guys to watch all the episodes. There will be tears, and pain, but always with an HEA.

In six days, you’ll be able to watch Mina V. Esguerra’s episode “Make Good Days,” featuring her characters Ben and Naya (who I love). I was lucky enough to watch an initial cut of this episode, ugh it’s sweet and sad and hopeful and did I say sweet? It’s like a feel-good fic in the best way possible.

Here’s the lineup for the other episodes (not in order!). If you haven’t read the books, you can click the links to purchase them!

The production team : Mina V. Esguerra, Tania Arpa, Layla Tanjutco, Miles Tan, Ana Tejano, and Tara Frejas.

That’s great! But where can I watch???

All the episodes will be available for viewing on the Romanceclass Youtube Channel , with episodes coming out…weekly, I think? Make sure you subscribe so you know when an episode is coming out.

Will there be a watch party?

I’m going to guess you can just peek at #HelloEverAfter or #romanceclass and we’ll be there!

Will there be more than nine episodes??

Stick around to find out, hehe.

How can I help make more episodes?

“Hello, Ever After is produced/funded by us. And you, via http://ko-fi.com/minavesguerra (mention "Hello, Ever After" in the message field if you're contributing!)!”
