If the Dress Fits 2019 Edition Cover Reveal
Surprise! We’re doing this! Well, more like we already did this, it’s just a matter of doing all the things in preparation to release this new (but not so new) thing into the world. If the Dress Fits is the story that means everything to me, and it might be surprising for you to find out that I’ve actually decided to create a completely new edition of the book. Reasons being:
The book was originally written in first person present POV. Wow.
Reading it back, a lot of the things Martha thinks about herself are actually pretty harmful, and the kind of things I shouldn’t be repeating to anyone now.
I wanted more romance between these two dummies! We could use a lot more into this world.
More fake dating, more fun!
The new edition is the same story, same characters, same things that you loved about the original version, except now we get the benefit of my having spent the last three years learning what it really means to love myself, all the not so pretty parts and all. I like to think that 2019 Martha is a lot more aware of how she sees herself, and can talk about herself easier. She’s a lot kinder to herself now, more than she’s been allowed.
The book will now be in alternating third person POV, meaning, this time, we actually get to see Martha through Max’s eyes, which has been a real joy to write.
I have no idea when we will release this, but in the interest of sharing something for my birthday, here you go!
ALSO! We are not discussing the cover models, nope, nope. Let’s just call it an inside joke that has since turned into a real thing, and oops it’s a real real thing now hahahahaha okay goodbye
